8D 383 hesitation help

Here is the situation. Not a big deal but I have a customer that needs this solved. The vehicle is a show winning 68 Chevy PU that I custom made a harness and used a 730 ecm using an 8D file possibly Super 8D. The motor is a 383,Edelbrock Victor heads, 224ish cam and a custom sheet metal tall runner manifold with 30lb inj. I am using an autoprom and everything is going great but when cruising, if you let off the throttle and get back in it slowly or abruptly you get a hesitation and the only thing I can catch on the scanner is a lean condition. The O2 V will go to 0 for a split second. Has anyone had this issue. I have been playing with some of the accel enrichment factor but none that I have changed have made a huge difference. Am I on the right track or is there another fix that I have missed or overlooked.

Yea, I had that and I worked on the VE tables a little bit and the areas around it and fixed the problem.

What exactly did you do? I have played with the VE quite a bit on this thing and havent found the answer.

Re: 8D 383 hesitation help

The run down I did was....
I increased Enrich Accel vs. TPS from 1 to 1.25%, took TPS from .54 to .6, and raised the VE table about 3 points until closed loop with the hwy. mode turned off and the torque converter off was roughly 14.5-14.7. I got the timing in the 20-40 kpa table at 1600 about 32* and 2k and above about 34-35*. Then turned the torque converter back on and working great then lowered hwy. mode from 15.5 to about 15.0 at 20 kpa and 14.7 everywhere else. Then I just smoothed the dips/peaks in the VE curve.

Since my engine is breaking in more and more, I have to go back now and add a little more fuel into it in the VE table but other than that, there you go. If you PM me your email address, I'll let you use a copy of my .bin to see if that will get you close but you will need to adjust the fuel injectors setting if you don't have 32 lb.hr.

Yenko, is your setup simliar to mine? If so I'd be interested in looking at your bin. Not using, but looking. That way I could see where / what you changed and they understand why. My specs:
383 rotating assy
Siemens 60lb injectors
Dart 215cc / 72cc heads
Harland Sharp 1.5 RR's
Cam: 520 / Exh .540 / Duration Int.236 Exh.248 / LSA: 113
TPIS Bigmouth intake
BBK 58mm throttle body
SLP Siamesed runners

Your setup is a little hotter than mine is and your injectors is almost double what I have.....where you planning on forced induction? Send me a PM and we'll talk about it.....I ain't the greatest tuner in the world but I might can shed some light on it.
