Spark angle refernce.
Just a quick question about spark angle refernce.
Is this value supposed to be set to what the dizzy is set to BTDC? So if base timing is 10*, the spark reference angle is also to be set to 10*?
If this is the case, does this remove 10* from the spark values, in all maps, some or none? So if I had set the main spark table to say 23* at 50 Kpa at 2000 RPM, would the ECM only add 13* with the ref angle to 10*, or am I thinking wrong here?

Re: Spark angle refernce.
In TunerPro, with the .xdf supported by TunerPro, the spark reference angle should be set to the distributors base timing exactly.
Then the spark tables in Tunerpro are showing you the actual spark advance that the engine gets. Those tables dont care what the base timing is, its taken into account somewhere else. If you want 23* advance, make the table say 23*.

So what you are saying is the spark refence angle is removed from the spark maps to give a total timing (actual) of what is in the maps?

Re: Spark angle refernce.
The VERY last post in this thread, by RBob, confirms what I wanted to know.
This would probably explain why I get some knock counts and audible pinging with a stumble at low RPM throttle tip in, especially when opeing the throttle quickly. Reducing PE spark adder helped, but didn't cure it.
The bin is set to 0, I did try changing it to 10, but didn't seem to chang anything or may have ran slightly worse, but this was also on a tune that wasn't as close as the current tune.
