1228079 info, BCC's, diagrams, & pic's here.
Since detailed information about the CLCC ECM's, their connectors, & their BCC's seems to be so scarce, I figured I would post some info here as it could be useful for swaps etc.
I took some hi-res pic's, read out the PROM, & scanned a wiring diagram when I had the opportunity to troubleshoot a Chevy.
This BCC is AHWJ & it's from a 1988 Classic Caprice Brougham LS (with LG4 engine, A/C, auto tranny, & 17087130 carb.). The 0405 is just a checksum my reader came out with. I don't know how relevant it is but I included it in the filename anyway.
I'll scan some diagrams from the shop manual later and post here too.
Additional info and contributions are very much welcome.
PM me if you want the unreduced pic's (3.5MB) or scans.

Here are the diagrams for the H/G & 6 VIN's (305 LG4/L69 & 350 LM1).
I notice the A/C were not controlled by the 8079 ECM in these.
So this applies to the AHWJ BCC (B-body). Anyone else?

Here are the (Caprice & Monte Carlo) diagrams for the Y VIN's (307 LV2 engine).
I notice the A/C were controlled by the 079 ECM with this engine.
Which BCC's would this apply to?

Thanks Fast355!
I didn't know Caddy used such small engines btw., (if it's the same codes).
The first page attached here contains the VIN breakdown. Useful to know which VIN's means which engine and which car-lines they were used in.
The second page contains the trouble codes.
Now, about the 88SS_L69.BIN and the 85ssCPY.BIN that are out there; they seem to have their tables at slightly different locations. Wouldn't this be fixed by the program in the 8079, and if so what does the CPY.BIN belong to?

Yep, my 1988 Cadillac Brougham had the 180 HP Oldsmobile 5.0L in it with a 2004r behind it. 2.53 gears as well.

Thanks RBob! You are right of course.. When I moved that file to the correct folder I found I had gathered some info about it.. So much to keep track of..
So the 6865, 6866, 7169, 7855, & 8079 are all CLCC computers. Is that term sometimes confused with C3, or CCC, or what? C3 seems to be TBI, but is it the same as CCC?
Fast: that Olds engine barely turned 950 rpm in 50.. Quite quiet ride I guess..
So, just to verify; the 8079 uses the $40 mask ID and the A007 ALDL datastream definition. Right?

As far as I know, as you posted: "the 8079 uses the $40 mask ID and the A007 ALDL datastream definition", is correct.
For the CLCC, CCC, and C3, not exactly sure of what they stand for. For CLCC could guess that maybe it is Closed Loop Computor Carburetor, or Closed Loop Carburetor Control, or something of that nature.
And CCC being Computor Controlled Carburetor(?).
And the C3 being a series of GM ECM used for fuel injection (not CCC setups). These ECMs would be based on the GMCM (General Motors Custom Microprocessor).
The P4 ECM is based on the 68HC11 microprocessor.
RBob.

Re: 1228079 info, BCC's, diagrams, & pic's here.
I know CCC means computer command control, as seen in some GM documentation. the other 2, I think you are right Rbob.
I'm in the process of retrofitting a TBI system into an 81 malibu. Anyone know where I can find the d@mned IP connector pinout for these cars? So far, the schematics I have found are sparse, at best....no real breakout info on that connector.....on the early CCC cars, they all seemed to vary pretty widely....I have an El camino Ip connector pinout just from doing it the hard way, plus all the 3rd gen F-body ones I've figured out (3rd gen content right there). Most of the pinout stayed the same for VSS, brake switch, power and ground, and lockup converter, but there are extra wires I'll have to trace out if I can't find the schematic. Not that it matters, I just like to know what I'm accidentally not connecting (or worse, shorting out).
oh yeah, this car was a 3.8l chevy V6, used the 1224770 ecm....if you guys are interested in that cal, let me know, and let me know how to pull it out of the chip(s), I can try messing around with it.

Here's another BCC for the 8079.
I labeled it as a txt file for convenience, so rename it to bin before using it.
It's from an '87 Z-28 with A/C & cruise; VIN-H 5.0 4BBL Auto, 2.73 or 2.77 rear, 14 or 15" tires, Federal Emission.
