6E PE Questions
6E ARAP
Am I seeing this right?
WOT @ 2500
60% TPS engages PE mode
At operating temp (200 ) gives 22% enrichment
But PE v RPM has reducing enrichment from 6 to -10% (0% @ 3000 rpm )
Are these accumulative percentages?
As well ,PE mode SA throws in 9 degrees added spark at 3000 rpm only;
looks like a setup for lean cond.
As WOT will puts you in open loop ,
how do the OL AFR % change v temp (13%)
and OL AFR % change v LV8 (9% ) come into affect.

Re: 6E PE Questions
Yes they are cumulative. 22-6=16% which should command about 12.7:1 (not too lean).
9 degrees is an ARAP thing. I would reduce it to normal levels. I think that was meant to get it to knock to ride the knock sensor for a while.
WOT is open loop in only the fact that it stops closed loop, but it's not the normal open loop, and doesn't use the open loop afr changes, as far as I've seen, but I could be wrong.
Yesterday I found a bug in the 6E XDF file for the Open loop AFR offset vs Coolant table. The conversion equation must be X/2.56-13.67 in order to display correctly. Fix that, and then check to see that the open loop offset is 0 at warm engine.

Re: 6E PE Questions
Its NOT a knock sensor thing, it is an Aluminum head thing. The Corvette L98 that ARAP is native to had aluminum heads that dissapate heat faster. Also the main LV8 vs RPM timing table for ARAP had a valley of lower values around the same RPM that the PE timing was so high. This was to keep the engine from pinging while running in closed loop under moderate acceleration, near peak torque. When PE kicks in, the A/F ratio becomes richer and detonation is no longer as much of a problem as the same load @ 14.7:1.

Re: 6E PE Questions
Thanks , the murk is getting clearer
If the ARAP SA is related to Alum heads , why did I get mild knock with my ZZ4 cam in a otherwise stock Alum head L98?
The bigger cam should have lowered DCR.
"WOT is open loop in only the fact that it stops closed loop, but it's not the normal open loop"
Please explain.
I thought if in CL when going WOT ,it dropped into OL and does not fuel from the O2 readings?
What setting (tunerpro ) determines when it goes into OL if in CL?

Re: 6E PE Questions
You're right in that it does not change fuel from the O2 sensor feedback during WOT. My main point is that it still uses any INT above 128 and any BLM above 128 if they were present at the time of going above the TPS threshold into WOT (and also uses a minimum INT and BLM of 128). INT does not work 'actively' though. It also does not use the Open Loop AFR offsets or spark offsets (which is why it's not a normal Open Loop condition), it just adds PE fuel and PE spark, and uses PE knock retard settings.

Re: 6E PE Questions
Thanks for the clarification.
So "normal Open Loop" is the time before the engine goes into CL ,
say at start up?
