intermittent SES

Can a "bad/worn" mencal cause a intermittent SES light?
I got this intermittent SES light probleme. It seems worse when im idle then when I cruise ( or its just more easy to notice at idle ).
The SES light flickers and the RPM drops, then the SES goes away and the car is happy again.. It drives me crazy..
I use a autorpom, and I always tought that whas the probleme. But now I tried a new autoprom, as well as a new ECM and cabels.
But the probleme is still there.
THe only part that has som wear on it is my memcal, the soldering could be better, and the zif socket is used alot.
I have not yet tried a chip. I have order 3 so that is next. But the autorpom should work :/

Hope you can give me some advice..

Re: intermittent SES

I'm betting it's the memcal or socket, probably a bad solder joint on it somewhere. I had the exact same problem with my original ECM, I fixed it by getting another ECM from the junkyard. Would this happen to be an 86-89 MAF TPI setup?

Re: intermittent SES

Its 91 TPI SD setup.
I tried another ECM but the same probleme. The only common factor is my memcal. So i order a new one. Hope that is the probleme
