MEMCAL compatibilty
MEMCAL compatibilty
Hey,
Are all MEMCAL's interchangeable in all applications? How can identify the difference in them, and choose one that maybe more compatible to my application? For example, I have a G20 van, and 2 spare MEMCAL's that I want to use to experiment with. The first is off of truck with same motor, the other is off my old Astro van with a TPI v6.
Any suggestions on where to cross refernec my MEMCALs?

Re: MEMCAL compatibilty
memcals generally are not swappable. They contain certain setting and code changes based on the engine architecture, v6/v8, port injection/TBI/CPI, etc.
if you are swapping cubic inches only, they you can usually reuse the memcals, but only with the same injection schemes (say, tpi from 305 to 350, won't run well, but you can re-use the memcal).
if you search on memcal, there is a wealth of information here on the boards.
