Im planing on puting a high performance cam in my trans am its a 305 5.0 TBI but iv heard you will need to burn the prom to adjust the stock settings and a stronger fuel pump so can you burn the original prom or do you need a special chip to burn?

 

You can erase and re-burn the original eprom. It takes ultra violet light to erase them. I would recomend purchasing some extra eproms just incase something goes wrong.
