w-b o2 problem

I posted this under DFI and ECm but I think I should have posted here instead so I reposted here also.

Anyway,
I had the old diy-wb controller which was wired to the ecm so I could datalog. After lots of tuning I managed to get my tune close to where it needed to be according to my w-b. The problem was I had to take a lot of SA out for the car to be driveable under light load. When I go WOT from a stop the WB would show 12.5/1 (give or take) but I could see black smoke in the mirror. Normal driving the w-b would show 15 to 16/1 but the plugs show a rich condition.

I figure it was my DIY w-b so I ordered the LC-1 with the O-meter. I got it all hooked up and the O-meter did show the engine running richer than what I had been seeing so I figured I had the problem solved. NOT!!! I also wired the LC-1 to the ecm for datalogging and for some reason the O-meter will so one reading and Tunerpro shows another. Looks like I may not have needed the LC-1 after all.

Now I need to try and figure out how to make my AFR in the datastream show the same as the O-meter. Any ideas?

You'll have to edit the ADS file, there will be a calculation that might need adjusting.

Another option is to change the programming of the LC1 output, which is a common thing for different ADS files. As an example, $59 requires the LC1 to be programmed for 10 AFR = 0 volts, and 20 AFR = 5 volts.

Thanks for the input, I'm starting to wish I had never seen any of this stuff.

If I reprogram the LC-1 to match what the ads file needs that means I will have to reprogram the O-meter to read the LC-1. This should be interesting.

Pick one output that seems more correct and calibrated the incorrect one to that reading.

If the LM1 (as a unit) is a better read, then just change the ads file conversion.

If both are off, then correct the LM1 first, then see if the data log is on or off.
