troublesome tuning

Okay, I've got the bpc where it needs to be. I've tried all kinds of numbers on the ae tables, getting less power wherever I put the numbers. I know my cam doesn't pull full vacuum, but I know it can be done. Some tunes give me great idle but poor power. Others give great power(up to 2500rpm) but horrible idle and no power at high rpm. I've been reading about sync and async but just don't get it-how to adjust/delete. I have also noticed my idle gets better with more of my accesories on. Its starting to be a bit strange to have my wipers going when theres no rain.

Re: troublesome tuning

I think it best to put lower values in AE and work to enrichment. You will get a lean pop in intake with lean on AE. From there work up. When rich it will have a gurgling sound and feel flat and still accellerate. At higher rpms you need little AE as velocity of charge will assist. Most of your AE will be provided in TPS/AE. Grumpy once posted that AE/MAP is used when a change in MAP occurs without regard to TPS changes as well as TPS changes raising MAP. Kind of a filler to AE/TPS.

So how can MAP change with steady TPS %?

Some say run idle CL. I currently have idle SA locked as well as run idle OL(14.0/1) and locked to A/F as all cells show same A/F around cell I idle in. I lock synch for entire tune. I believe there is a bit to check for that. Works for me.

there is a PW compensation table for changes in voltage. that may address why adding accessories on affects tune.

Provide more details.

Re: troublesome tuning

It may be that the fuel pressure is dropping off. That will send you and the tune in circles.
