anybody use this cable?

I was thinking about getting this cable to use with my laptop for scanning. Anybody use this before?

actually looking closer I don't see how this will attach to a laptop, I have no idea what type of connector that is.

IIRC that is a 15 pin LPT or is it serial? Either way, out-dated connection type. Good luck getting that to work with a newer laptop. I'm sure it could be done but would be less headache and likely cheaper just to buy a Moates ALDU1.

I'm just looking for a nice 12 pin connector that works with usb. Like the one at aldlcable.com but maybe there is a cheaper one out there that's just as nice? no?

The ALDL.com cable is the best bet, quality vs price, having seen others.
No problems with mine, it's worth the money (way too much).
Treat it well, abuse will shorten it's life.
