Re: Ipad and TP/RT
Looking at Tuner Pro's site, it is only available for Windows, and no mention of OS X or the iOS. I wouldn't get my hopes up, although DevToaster's REV and Innovative Motorsports' OT-2 for the iPhone/iPod Touch are pretty nice gadgets.
The iPad is not a laptop replacement, and shouldn't be viewed as such unless all you are doing is browsing the web and doing limited document work in Apple Pages (no Microsoft Office for the iOS). If you still want an Apple product, grab yourself a refurbished 13" MacBook Pro from Apple's online store for less than $1K, install Fusion/Windows XP, and run Tuner Pro. I'm doing a similar thing with running HP Tuners off my MacBook and it works great.

If your heart is set on the iPad, go out and buy an old Laptop with Windows 98, a serial port, and 100+ mhz processor. You can probably get one for $40, and just use it as your dedicated logging/tuning computer...
It doesn't take a lot of processing power to datalog/tune a 15-20 year old vehicle.

Re: Ipad and TP/RT
simply no, the Ipad is an overpriced runover ipod touch, still does not support flash players, so your internet browsing is limited, and no support for any type of parrallel that you would be able to use on any other Mac product to run Windows programs
if you have the money for the Ipad, then its an ok toy, but if your looking for something useable, get a Macbook or a real Laptop
