I have a prom that was supposed to be Manual, but has turned out to be Auto (APYY).

Is it impossible to run an auto chip in a manual?

Or just a major pain in the butt?

I would imagine alot of values are different, therefore, alot of editing time would be needed to accommodate the lack of torque conv load.

Going through the data in this chip, I did notice an unchecked Flag that says 'Manual Transmission'.

What would this be for?

 

Checking that flag tells the computer it is a manual transmission, don't do the auto transmission code.

I just want to clarify what you said. 'dont do that auto transmission code'.... does that mean that its no problem to use an Auto prom in a manual car if that flag is checked?
Or are you telling me not to use the auto tranny PROM?

I meant to say that with the flag checked, the automatic transmission code is not executed. That's what I get for posting in the middle of the night
