New to tuning... Using EBL P4 flash. Where to start?

As title states...

I have a HSR 383 with Vortec heads and a 234/244 cam and 9.5-1 ratio, 24LB injectors. Its in a 92 Camaro with a T5 behind it. My first question is what would be the ideal EBL file to start with.

Should I use the file for the 5.7L Vortec main and extended SA tables or use the 5.0 TPI w/5 speed file and copy the SA tables from the Vortec file? or use the 5.7 TPI with 6 speed and do the same with the Vortec SA tables.

If I was to use the TPI files instead of the Vortec file, What else besides the SA tables would need to be copied?

I am assuming that I need to adjust/copy the SA tables for the Vortec heads if I use one of the TPI files, based from previous research.

Re: New to tuning... Using EBL P4 flash. Where to start?

Start off with the Vortec SA calibration. Un-check the TCC option flag and set the injector flow rate and engine displacement values. Note that the last two have double astrick's at the end of their names in the XDF.

The reasons for using that starter are two-fold. The first is that the SA tables are set up for decent performance with the Vortec heads.

The second reason is that the VE table has a better profile for use with the HSR.

The TPI cal's have the VE table sloping off quite rapidly.
