355 L98, Am I on the right track?
355 L98, Am I on the right track?
Done a pretty good amount of reading... I have an APU1 and using tunerpro V5 with v41024 bin from moates.net, 730 ecu. Here's my motor combo and what I've done in tunerpro, am I on the right track to light if off and start logging data?
Going in a CJ5 with a TH350, not a thirdgen...
Engine: (parts from 2 unfinished projects I bought)
Stock L98 with .30 over rebuild from summit,
stock 92 camaro cam
92 camaro stock rebuilt heads
1.6 scorpion rockers
mild port and polished stock plenum, runners, base (have unported set as well)
48mm stock tb/also have a 60mm... will that be more trouble than its worth?
ramhorn exhaust tees into single 3" pipe to 40 series flowmaster
24# svo injectors
stock coil-need upgrade?
vss is 16000ppm summit (feeds summit speedo)
egr delete
bbk adjustable fuel pressure reg
fuel pump from econoline van-(seemed to be common swap by 4x4 guys)
o2 is going about 1.5' from the driverside dump of the exhaust
no wideband...
Changes to v41024 bin:
cyl volume to 727 (355cc)
egr min mat temp to 125.66
injector flowrate to 24
vss pulses to 16000 (is this a legal number?)
VATS delete
I know I'll have some changes to make once I light it off, but is there anything else I should do to the 1024V4 bin before I do? Thanks in advance for any suggestions...

Switch to the newer 1026 version of the bin and do the updates in the S_AUJP thread so your definitions are up to date.
I've never ran a TBI with it but I believe there is a hardware jumper in the memcal to set the fueling for TBI. Not sure of other needs for that.
There are some multipliers for the optical speedo input. I would make that read correctly and then try to get the output to the dash correct. If the input is wrong the output will follow.

Thanks for the heads up on 1026, I'll just start over with that and remake my changes-havent changed much yet.
Are the tables for 1026 left at a 'starter' position or have they already been tweaked for a specific combo?
Its a TPI, not TBI... do I have a mismatch of something in there that looks like a TBI setup?
I also took tcc min temp enable to 151-that should disable the lockup right? (no tc lock on my 350)

TPI, check.
I thought I read on the original post you had a stock TBI instead of TB.
The temp will disable the L/U so your good there.
All of the S_AUJP are the same for the most part.
There is a doc included that ststes what values have been changed from the stock AUJP that Traxion did when he first instituted the file. It has just been expanded from there with V2 & V3 for larger TBs.
The values for SA will be the main thing to confirm just because they are a bit aggressive so watch for excessive knock counts and lower the area if needed.

Re: 355 L98, Am I on the right track?
Thanks again, I see the changes I need to make on the XDF. I'm just using the A version and the standard tables-stock cam and heads. The ported intake stuff should wake it up but with a stock cam the power range wont shift too much.
It sounds like the bin should be fine for me to fire up then, I'll keep a close eye on knock count and possibly pull some timing out.
Would you suggest using the factory SA table to start instead of the one from 1026?
Any suggestion on using the 60mm throttle body vice the 38mm?

there is no 38mm throttlebody or 60mm, 48 stock , 52, 54, 58
Re: 355 L98, Am I on the right track?
Was just trying to edit that, haha, I had 38 stuck in my head for some reason.
I have a stock 48 and what I was told is a 60... which must be a 58 from what you're saying
