Fuel pressure sender question EBL
Fuel pressure sender question EBL
So, I'm thinking of putting one of these on the dash.
http://www.glowshiftdirect.com/blue-...ure-gauge.aspx
The senders are rated from say 10 -180 ohms, what does that translate to in voltage? I'm a little rusty on Ohms law. If the voltage going in is 12V, what should the outgoing V be when affected by a resistance?
I should be able to hook this up to the EBL and create a fuel pressure device if I know the voltage span. yes/no?
Unless someone has a better idea?

Re: Fuel pressure sender question EBL
Whatever you do, do not connect 12 V to the EBL ADC inputs. The maximum voltage is five (5 V).
As for using that sender, I'm not sure if it will work with the EBL. Some gauges have a data logging output that is linear. If it is within the 0 - 5 volt range that will work with the EBL.
Many users (including myself) use the AutoMeter pressure transducers. They take a 5 V source and output a linear 0.5 - 4.5 V range. The devices are also built into the WUD so no need to create a user device.
The 5V power source can be obtained from the MAP/TPS reference voltage.
RBob.

A 'transducer', sounds like something out of a 1930s sci-fi comic. Is that going to teleport me in and out of my jeep?
Alright, so Summit carries a Holley version of the atomic blackhole accelerating transducer. Specs match the 5V source, linear 0.5-4.5V, 0-100psi.

Thanks mucho for the instructions.
I've got so many Summit stickers laying around, my 4 year old told me she was sick of them tonight. She gave 'em back to me. Sheesh.
I suppose you could wire one of those for oil pressure and set the EBL to shut off the engine if the oil pressure dropped below a threshold. If the EBL had such an option.

Also Autometer 2246 (0 to 100 PSI). For TBI system use Autometer 2239 (0 to 30 PSI).
