Quick Y-body question.

Yea, i know, not Camaro, but Corvette. I am looking at 1990 6-speed car. Just had some basic Q's what i am getting into. I am thinking it is a SD car, with the 7730 ECM. I been using 29C256 chips in my IROC, so i was just wondering if they would work in the new Vette? Obviously i would need a cal ID, and a new memcal adaptor. I havent done any chips in over a year, due to other priorities. Since i am such an expert at a MASS AIR tuned car, now interested in tuning a SD car. Kinda looking forward to it!
Thanks,

Ok, thanks. wrong ECM, but that is not the big thing. So will my 29C256 chip work in that ECM?

Re: Quick Y-body question.

if you have means to program it than yes it will work on a piggyback, you should invest in a few flash eeproms.

Re: Quick Y-body question.

The '7727 ECM is the same as the '7730 ECM, with the exception of different harness connectors and being shoved into a weather proof under hood case.

Both the '90 - '91 y-body and the '90 - '92 f-body (w/TPI) run the $8D mask. One in the '7727 and the other in the '7730.

RBob.
