Emulate APU1 with just aldl cable
Finally learning and getting some better knowledge of the tuning
Thanks to all!
Simple one here: I have read my stock $32 165 akfm chip I used the 27fs512 setting and the 00C000 offset and it appears to look much. Better to me now
So using apu1 plugged into the obd1 port and not using the ribbon cable g1 thing
Can I emulate? I can connect and it says emulate and data log all work fine
But not sure if changes will load?
Hate to have ribbon cable installed all the time rather get close with aldl the burn and Install chip into g1
Thanks to all!

Re: Emulate APU1 with just aldl cable
No...
Emulation in this instance refers to emulating the EPROM, so without the ribbon cable plugged to the G1/MEMCAL in place of the EPROM, there are no changes being made that are being read by the ECM.
If you could emulate with the ALDL cable only connected to the APU1, then the same thing would apply to the ALDL Xtreme, and any other ALDL cable.
That being said, in some instances, and with some additional equipment you can upload bins to the ECM through the ALDL connection, but not in stock form.

Ahh I figure otherwise why use the g1? Too good to be true
Ok so I will probably burn and drive so for now I am just really idling in garage and want to get. Quick tune cut fuel down minor easy steps
Is there any best easy way to data log or things to look for at idle using tuner pro or other software. Be great to run maybe drive around. Record true table values then I can say ok edit here.
Is win aldl or datamaster ? The. What table should I just subways Blm vs load?
And finally is it easier to start with open or closed loop tune for now
