Real odd-ball '7730 question. Oh wise ones please help.

After many and many a search I have come up with one big question for my future 3800 swap. Is there a way for the '7730 ECU to be programmed to run a 1999 or newer S/c 3800? Obviously it won't be able to see all the sensors the newer engine has. Everyone I have seen do the swap has swapped the ECU also. Thanks.

The ECM doesn't care what engine it's attached to, as long as the it sees the proper signals.
