MAF TPI system is playing with me.

Just a quick questions after several years with headaches, confusions etc.

I have a Lg4 engine that is converted to a 89 MAF system. I got the wiring harness from a 88 Camaro so the ECM has the 32b code.

Anyway, I have modded the wiring harness so everything matches up so the wiring should be okay. I have changed all the sensors (except the expensive MAF sensor)

I have bought equipment from Moates to burn my own chips. I got the Gp1 package and BURN 2 programmer. Also have Ostrich 2.0 so I can emulate in real world simulation with wideband 02 sensor.

But that is not the problem. I have downloaded BIN files from 89 systems because I don't want the cold start system. Have eliminated that. Have also removed AIR pump and EGR system and disabled those in the BIN file.

And I just feel like the car is running like it was on the stock BIN. Same slow RPM adjustments in idle, same TCC lockup points..same timing etc etc.

My question is: Is there any chance the Gp1 package from moates does not bypass the stock prom??

I just got back the ECM also from service. I sent it to a company that resoldered anything and tested it and gave 1year warranty on the repair.

So everything should be in perfect shape except I feel the system is playing with me..RPM hunting in idle...sometimes feels like the car is not deccelerating when letting of the gas pedal etc.

Have no error codes or anything.

Please help out.
It is very hard for me to explain everything but I just wanted to give it a try and see if I could get any good tips from you guys.

Re: MAF TPI system is playing with me.

Change the PromID in the BIN that you are working with. Then after installing it into the ECM (via Ostrich or PROM burn), check it on your scan tool. This will verify if the ECM is running from that BIN or not.

The ECM doesn't use the PromID, so you can use it to help keep track of the BINs you are making.
