new start..383 in 89 tpi
bdads here,, new to the forum,,, while I am learning about programing ,could I simply bolt in larger injectors,,use the stock chip to break in a fresh 383 engine before I get my programing done? I have a 1989 formula bird 305 tpi ,,, but am building a 377/383 stroker with aluminum heads and howards roller cam,,,, so far it seems my cam is a little big for this system...and I really don't want to go lower.... its a 530/545 LIFT 233/241 DURATION @.050" 112º LOBE SEP ,,, also is there an updated all in one kit for this type of programing for a beginner to purchase ?? thanx,,, bdads

Changing from 19# (stock 305) to 22# (stock 350) = 86% or 14% rich.
Of course, with a hot 383, you won't be using 22s, you'll have to step up to 27# or 30#...
19/27 = 70% or 30% rich... that's 1/3 more fuel than necessary
19/30 = 63% or 37% rich... do you really want to foul your plugs and wash all the oil off the cylinders when you are trying to seat the rings? When the ECM thinks its running 14.7:1, it will really be giving enough fuel for 9.3:1.

Retain the stock injectors for the start up and break in. The MAF will report a higher airflow with the larger engine, while the ECM will respond with a larger injector PW.
Once you start to tune the ECM you can go with larger injectors.
