TunerPro RT Datalogging

Some of you may know that Datamaster is no longer available. I've built a page to lower the difficulty of understanding TunerPro RT. Because I'm new to the program comments or suggestions will be welcomed. At a later date I will go into how to work VE tables for speed density tuning.

You deserve a Top Gun style High Five! Thank you! All the links are dead for the subjects I'm trying to learn.

You're welcome. I'm a retired Carpenter who taught Apprenticeship for 5 years where I learned to lower the difficulty of understanding. I would only hope the mods here would make it a sticky so that others can benefit from my work. At 55 years old this was a huge undertaking for me!

Re: TunerPro RT Datalogging

Scott, I'm a customer from several months back. I spent months trying to download datamaster on my old windows 7 laptop with no luck so I could give you a datalog of your tune so we can get it dialed in.
I finally gave up and bought a new laptop with windows 10 only to find out datamaster was discontinued. I hopped on your website and as advised downloaded tunerproRT.

I have a new moates cable, downloaded driver and tunerpro recognizes the cable. My problem is selecting the XDF file. I've selected the proper adx file for version 5, saved it , but when I go to tunerpro and click "acquisition", then select "load definition file", then I try to select the saved file........ nothing happens. I tried it at least 50 times!
I even tried downloading the older ads file and loading it by using the "import definition" by using ads with no luck.
I watched a good youtube video of a guy doing it and it loaded right up for him when he selected his file.
I could have just sent you an email but I thought this might be a helpful post for somebody else one day.
Any ideas on what the heck is going on? I'd greatly appreciate any ideas.

Thanks, -Gary Bettner / Boggstown IN ( If you remember me)

Re: TunerPro RT Datalogging

XDF is a BIN definition file used by TunerPro to decipher the Bin (program in the EPROM) and an ADS file is a Data Stream file used to decipher the ALDL data stream. You need the XDF and the ADS file in order to datalog. For 89 as in your sig., you need a $6E definition file (MAF w/o 9th cold start injector). HTH!

Re: TunerPro RT Datalogging

Then you need a $8D XDF definition file.

Re: TunerPro RT Datalogging

Yes, I know the definition file I need. I select it, save it, but when I open tunerpro RT and try to select it after saving, nothing happens.

Re: TunerPro RT Datalogging

From your original post, it sounded as if you were trying to use an ADX file, not an XDF. Sorry for mis-understanding. Did you load your BIN file into TunerPro?

Re: TunerPro RT Datalogging

No, I didn't do anything with bin files. I am only looking to datalog, no tuning. The tutorial I watched said not to mess with bin files if just data streaming.
I may have misunderstood something though, do bin files need loaded if just data streaming?
And yes, I was under impression for tunerprort version 5 you should select an adx file, not the older ads.
I'm not good with computers at all, just trying to get through this. Any help greatly appreciated.

Re: TunerPro RT Datalogging

Did you try connecting using the double blue arrows at the top toolbar (connect/disconnect)?
