OK, I just got my Cable in the mail from Andrew and it seems like I am not making a connection to my ECM? I have an old 386 laptop, using dos program and runing ecm845. I do not think the cable is working? When I run the program, I unplug the ALDL and there seem to be no changes. Also, I did not expect the cable to come with a power attachment? What is that for, the resistor?

 

If you have a MAF car you need to use 10k resistor across pins A and B to put the ECM into ALDL mode.

Once you start pulling data you can remove the resistor.
