Is this a good idea...

Hey guys,
I have been reading and studying this main spark table with respect to my logs. The log shows some spark retard at various areas. I pulled timing out across the boards and it took care of much of the retard. My question is...should I lower the WOT Spark Adv. down to zero while trying to get the main spark tables straightened out? I find it difficult to calculate figure out at each stop how much timing is being added at various spots. Just wanted to get a feel for what you guys thought about that approach.
I will post the results of the log for you to view at:

Your running too much timing as I see it.
34-36d?
Try 28-30
Get rid of the knock and MAYBE add a few degrees in.
Ar you using a timer or just seat of the pants?
If SOTP then you'll never get it right.

Grumpy,
I am just trying to get rid of the knock right now and am VERY uneasy about how to change this graph. On tunercat I can't een see the backside of the graph. I think the approach I am going to take is to just set the values from ~3400 RPM at high load to 28* and use the G-tech and Craig's 1/4 recorder to guage the best timing. But What about the WOT timing that is added. Should I just zero that out so I don't have to worry about PE mode. I am assuming that you saying 28*-32* is for WOT, Correct? THanks and sorry for being a PITA.

Yes, most folk zero out the wot advance-most times the most knock is where it is added.
