Buy vs. burning chips
Buy vs. burning chips
I have a 92 Camaro RS, 5.0L, TBI. I am in the process of installing 1-3/4 headers to attach to my cat-back system. I chose 1-3/4 headers because I'm working on a 5.7L to install next year.
Since I want to stay with a computerized set-up. My question is - What are my options for making changes to my computer? I don't want to have to buy a new custom chip after every mod. Are there computers available for this car that are programmable?
Since I have never burned a chip, what are the basics? Where do I learn and what do I need? Got a laptop, what's next?

The one that came with the car is "programmable." Check out www.tunercat.com.

Do a search on this site and find Traxions article. You will do yourself a lot of good reading everything you can find about buirning chips. Also check out the archives at www.diy-efi.org. This should give you a better idea of more specific questions to ask.
