Software Needs For Programming?

What exactly is needed to program your own ECM? I've looked into the JEGS/Summits/ect... and have come up decidedly empty handed - where do you guys get your stuff (particularly for TBI)?

There is some freeware out the.
Personally, I stick with Tundercat or GMEpro stuff

GMEPro is DOS oriented and perfect for running on your cheap laptop. So you can have a laptop set up for scanning, and if you want to do some in car prom burning just throw your pocket programmer in the car and away ya go.

Both the Tunercat and GMEPro have very complete 42 mask editing. GMEPro has an optional 42 for using with the lean cruise patch of the 747, as I recall

Is there an update coming on the FAQ/Intro? I mean, there's not even any mention of 29C256 chips among other things. I know an update was discussed, just didn't know if it was in the works or what.
