new to this

this is my first time posting in this forum and i just wanted to introduce myself because you may be hearing from me alot in the next few months or so .

to start, ive downloaded winbin and have the ARAP.bin and the 6Ev009.ecu as well...both were from the craig moates site. if i decide to burn my own chips, is this all i need for my cars prom? (89 trans am w/700r4). ill be buying the equipment some time within the next couple of weeks if i decide to burn my own chip.

so far my mods include a vortech s-trim and a shift kit. besides the shift kit, the tranny is stock w/ 3.27's in the rear. the heads are stock but my dad be getting them decked along with a 3 angle valve job all within a month. We (my dad and i) just ordered a new set of pistons, rings, etc etc (9.0:1 CR) and will be installing a new cam as well: speed pro - pro 3000: 209/214 @.050 and .471/.490 lift 112 LSA w/ 3-6" of vacuum loss

i was told that this setup would surely need a customized "chip"...is this true? would you recommend it? and finally, if i do decide to burn my own chip, with the mods given, what would be the first things to configure? ive read that the arap.bin isnt the best for blown applications but i dont plan on running more than 6psi for awhile. any help would be greatly appreciated.

Pretty much any boost and the 6e isn't going to work well at all. I'm natural aspirated so I'm afraid not much help-try a post asking 'bout what's best ecm/code for boost apps. There's quite a few folk who know their stuff on that here. And you will have to learn to burn! It's not hard and especially for your app. you'll need to do it to make it run right.

thanks for the reply. being that i live in hawaii, support for DIY-PROM's are quite rare. aside from that, shipping for anything costs me an arm and a leg . anyone know what the best ecu/bin combos are for my application? reguardless of its flaws for my type of application, id like to keep this computer instead of swapping out for another.
