hi you guy`s this is a small block lover from bonnie scotland, it would be really helpfull if you could tell me why my cooling fan is staying on, the car is a 1986 camaro tpi 305 z28 when i turn on the ignition the fan stays off(engine cold) then when i start the engine the fan starts up after about two or three minute and stays on until the ignition is turn offhope you can help (love your countrysome great holidays)

The ECM temp sensor, screwed in the front of the TPI base (1 black wire, 1 yellow wire), may be defective/ giving a false reading making the ECM 'think' the car is running hotter than it really is.
