Okay.Has anyone noticed the little light on the underside of the center a/c vents on the Camaros? It comes on when the lights are turned on,but is VERY dim and doesn't seem to serve any purpose.I've had it on all five of the 3rd gens that I've had and my brother has it on his 89.JUST WHAT IN THE *&@* IS IT FOR?!?!? I've asked so many other camaro owner's and no one can tell me. What's up?

It's to further illuminate the radio/A/C controls.

I have it too.

For what it's worth, take the panel out, remove the clear plastic lens and drill out the hole slightly and glue the lens back in place. It will give you some more light. Be careful not to drill it out too much, or the light will disperse and it will seem like you lost light.

BTW, the bulb is a #74.

I actually did that (drill), and cut out a square of clear plastic to glue in place and it's much brighter. Next time I get the whim, I'll take a piece of red filter and stick it in there too. The light hits right between the ashtray and the shifter.
