ECM for carbed car

I'd like to figure out what car my ECM came from, because I'm sure it is not original (my engine is not). My car originally came with a v6, and someone swapped in a 305. Then the previous owner swapped in a 350, and I want to know if the ECM is hurting my performance. All of the past engines were carbed, and so is the current 350. I found two numbers on the ECM: one said "serv. no. 1227169" and the other was "16048241". If this is a computer from an LG4 (which i think it is) what can I do to upgrade to something better for a 350 carbed engine. I know that this combo never came stock in a thirdgen, but maybe I could use an ecm from another model car or program it somehow. Thanks for any info.
John

A performance PROM for the spark curve & the correct jetting / metering rods in the carb should do the job, since the ECM only controls part throttle mixture ratio. Call the local parts dealer & ask them about the ECM part number.

Thanks Tim. So if it does turn out to be an LG4 ECM then I should buy a performance chip for that motor (305 4bbl) and that'll help with my motor, right? (and I should make sure my carb is set up correctly)
