overheating

I seem to be having a problem with my fan just like some other people on the boards. I have a 92 RS and the fan will not turn on, unless the air conditioner is on. I replaced the fan switch beneath the engine and I replaced one of the sensors located near the firewall on the driver side and the fan still will not turn on. Anything else I should look into?
TIA

just to clarify, the fan switch is in the passenger side head right inbetween #6 and #8 spark plugs, it should be a round brass unit with a round plastic neck on it, it should also have only one wire going to it (green, I think).

if thats the switch you replaced, try taking the wire off of the switch and placing the end of the wire on a good ground, with the key on or the engine running the fan should run. that should help narrow down where the problem is.
