Need Vss Help (speed Sensor)
I heard somewhere that the vss controls the torque converter lock up, the primary cooling fan and a few other things. my question is, after I swapped tbi to tpi on my 92 rs i Hooked the vss back up and nothing happens I understand that it is 2000ppm as opposed to the right one that has 4000ppm but if I have it hooked up shouldnt it read half my speed? Shouldnt it do something>?? the needle hasnt moved in once. I dont get any ses light either. Could this be related to the fact that when i swapped it i put in the harness for an auto when i have a manuel so i do not have the four prong connecter hooked up for the torque converter?? DO i need to put a jumper in there somewhere or what??

Where did you run the VSS wires to?
On the TBI the signal first runs thru a VSS buffer and then out to the ecm, speedo, and cruise.
On the TPI it has to go thru the ecm first and then to the speedo and cruise
