Dummy Light, I think?

Ok, I can't figure this out, To the right of my SES light, there is a orange one that says"Upshift" It has never come on but I can still see it and I was wondering what it was? My car is an auto and has always been an auto so what is that light for??
Thanks guys,

It started on 4cyl 2.5 f-bodies with manual trannies. The light would come on, to signify that upshifting at that point would provide the best gas mileage.

I also have it; I think it was dropped after '86- what year is your car? I'm considering rigging a shift light to it; that would be slick. I wouldn't use any of the dashboard wiring, however. I'd remove the bulb (if any) back there, and "hang" my own- independent of the dash's circuit board.

Its an 86. Your idea might work, It would require a decent amount of rewiring but it would work.
