headlights

Help! I recently purchased an 85 T/A. I have
only one problem left on the car and that is,
my headlights. They will go down but not up again. Does anyone know why this is?

Thanks
Jeff

You are going to have to check all of the wiring in the circuit with a multimeter, figure out if there are any problems. If not, it may be one or more of the three relays for the headlights. There is one isolation relay and two actuator relays and they all look they same on the outside. If it still doesn't work its most likely one or both of the motors that are bad. Replace as a last resort. Try finding ones in a junkyard and taking the internals out of them to replace yours. it is usually just the contacts and brushes inside that wear. Good luck.

Also, you should check the signal bulbs in the front of your car. I had one bad bulb connection that kept one light from working.
