Rear Hatch
Rear Hatch
Hi
I have an 89 firebird, which doesn't have the hatch release button inside. I had a quick look at the hatch release and it looks as if it's all wired, just no release button.
Before I spend the money and get a proper release button, I want to connect a switch to see if it all works first. Can anybody tell me the colours of the negative and positive cables ?
I'm in the UK, so I expect getting a genuine hatch release switch will probably be really expensive.
Thanks
Geoff

Since the car is negative ground there should be one wire to power the release solenoid. However, there needs to be a power supply to the motorized trunk pull-down.
From the best of my recollection, if the previsions are there the power is on the left rear and the momentary power should be on the right rear.
