fluctuating voltage while braking
OK, I'm sorry this is not a thirdgen, but its my mother's 97 Lumina and I need help. The headlights and gauge lights dim and return to normal rapidly, heater blower noticably changes speed repeatedly back and forth and almost every other electrical component is affected similarly when the brake are applied. I was thinking it was some switch or relay in the ABS circuit, because as soon as you touch the brake you can feel it in the pedal and it makes a loud clicking noise. But I really don't know where to start. I know some of you guys are GM techs, so maybe you could help me out. Thanks and sorry this is so long. The braking effectiveness isnt diminished, but other cars think she is flashing her lights at them and that is a problem. Any ideas? Thanks,
John
