Why should i ditch the Computer
I noticed a lot of people have ditched their computer controlled carbs and ignition. What are the advantages and disadvantages to this? And when you switch the ignition, do u just put in a non-computer controlled distributor and start her up?

Basically that's all you have to do: change the computer and distributor to the non-computerized one. Except if you have an automatic, then you lose the TC clutch unless you add a switch to engage it.
The reason I did it was because there was no way in hell to get the OE carb to work right on my 400 with (at the time) a Comp 282 solid cam in it. It ran great at WOT, that was easy, that's what you see posted about secondary rods and hangers, getting that part to behave is a no-brainer; but every other possible condition, especially cold start-up and drive-off, was a failure. I finally got sick of constant driveability problems and poor gas mileage. I put a Performance Distributors DUI and a Holley 6211 on it, and ended the problems once and for all.
