About to replace all my gauges with Autometer... anything I should know first?

I got a speedo, tach, H2O temp, and fuel level. I got most of the gauges out now. It is pretty cool how they just pop out like they do. I think the speedo cable is holding in the speedo though.

My big question is not how to fit them in, but how to wire them up (this being the Electronics board and all ). The 3 small gauges on my pillar seem not to be getting enough juice and are acting funny. I don't want to same thing to happen with the new gauges (and the ones in the pillar when I re-wire them). Is there anything I need to know when I route wires from the old gauge power wires to the new ones?

Are the Autometer gauges meant to be driven by the factory GM senders? The senders may need to be changed to Autometer type senders.
