What is this switch......??????

While trying to figure out why my third brake light won't come on I noticed this switch in the trunk area in front of the auto latch pull-down. It is a black sliding switch with a two wire connector that goes nowhere. anyone???

that is just for the trunk light.

Is that an option or is mine just missing?There is an opening there where that two wire connector comes through , though. THANKS The Odb
