i recently purchased an msd digital 6 to help with my mods.........if for some reason the box were to fail for any reason would my car quit running? i've been told it would but i just wanted to get my facts straight.

 

I know that the regular 6 replaces the intensifier in the distributor, so if it dies the car is dead in the water.
It’s also a fear of mine as well, since you can’t just walk into any parts store, and hope they have a MSD box hanging from the wall. The worst part is having to wire one of those puppies in on the side of the road.

On the bright side, there more reliable then you think.
