All right, on Friday I'm gonna be throwing a new distributor on in place of the old CC one on my LG4. I already replaced the carb and manifold, now how do i go about replacing the distributor? How do i do all of that timing stuff? Does anyone have an article or something i can read to help me out? Obviously i've never done it before, so try to make it simple
I don't need much performance... just need it to be up and running in a couple of weeks.

Holley 600 cfm carb, Weiand Stealth Intake manifold, no smog equipment, Hooker headers are in a box next to the car, and the cat back is on the way... now all I need is that elusive Y-pipe....

Before removing the plug wires, note which sockets in the cap connect to which cylinders. Before removing the distributor, note where the rotor is pointing - mark where it points. The rotor will rotate a small amount as you remove the distributor - when you install the new distributor, orient the rotor to the same location that the rotor was in after the old distributor was removed (after it rotated slightly while removing it) - this way, as you insert the new distributor, the rotor will rotate to the correct final position it needs to be in, when it is seated against the intake manifold. Check the timing, after the install is complete.
