Radio question
Radio question
Hey guys, I figured if anyone knows how to do this it would be your guys.
Here is what I want: When I turn on the ACC/car the radio to turn on, like normal, but when I turn off the car it stays on. Anyone have any idea how to do this?
Thanks,
Douglas

Simply connect the power to your radio from a point where there will be +12 with the ignition "on", and zero volts when the ignition is "off" - in this case, the "ignition" (not the "accessory" position) position of the ignition switch.
If you want to have power to the radio with the ignition in the "accessory" (engine "off" but key in the "accessory" position), simply wire it to the "accessory" position.
It appears (with the limited information you gave on how/where you connected the power to) you connected it to a point where there is always +12 (battery continuous/unswitched) such as from the "accessory" fuse (dome lights, horn relay, L/R door lock switchs, hatch pull down latch motor relay, etc.) which is unswitched +12 (battery continuous).

Thanks Stuart, but actually it was a question of how to do it, not how is it happeneing. I thought it would be cool to have the radio turn on when the car is turned on, but then not turn off when the car is turned off so you can listen to it after the car is shut off and take the key out, etc. Basically the reason I want this is so I can show off my sound system w/o having that annoying door buzzer in the background all the time.

Douglas
