I need your help!

Is there a resister for the heater/ac blower in a 1983 Trans Am? When I change blower speeds, the fuse blows. If I turn off heat or ac, then I can change blower speeds with no problem. Help!

yes there is a resister check to see if it's messed up, should be right next to the fan motor under the hood, it will be inside the piping to the fan because it gets cooled by the fan, if it's ok, then you have a short some place.

Also what might be blowing the fuse on the A/C side is if the clutch coil on the A/C compressor is going to ground, check to see if the compressor ingages when the A/C is turned on. NOTE: on the highest speed to the blower fan, it by passes the resistor, and gives full voltage to the blower fan.
