Question about a fuel cut-off switch

ok, when ever i change my fuel filters, instead of pulling a fuse or anything, i just unplug the plug that goes into the fuel tank itself, you guys should know what i mean. anyway, i was wondering if there was a way i could tap off that for a cut off swich to like make or brake the circut there, being as though the car won't start if that plug isn't getting power. or is there a better way of doing this? hope you can help. thanks.

want a anti theift a little more trick?...try running the ground for the ignition to the cigarette lighter(after completely removing the power for it) and solder it to either side of the case. The car won't start unless the lighter is in the cylinder and pushed in. Of course you loose the lighter but hey it is worth it. Your light(push in style becomes your second ignition key)
