motors...single or dual fan, who's stronger?

I looked up the GM part numbers and the single fan motor has a differant number then the dual fan motors. They look the same so what's the differance? Is on stronger (faster) then the other? If so which one?
Is there any way to get the factory specs on each?

Hey, thats funny, I looked up those numbers too!

The single fan had a different part number than the dual, but BOTH dual fans had the same number. I think since the duals have smaller blades to spin, they have a lower wattage rating than the single fan, since the single has a larger blade to spin. No sense in using a chainsaw to cut butter or a butter knife to cut a tree now is there? Thats just my theory though.

Thats odd i thought they were slightly different. One of the motors went out on my dual fan setup. I had a motor from my 91 rs with the single fan. So I thought that I would see if it would work. I had a problem with the fan blade fitting the motors shaft or something. I did get it too work but it vibrates some. I cant remember exactly what was different though.

Interesting, I will have to pull one of my dual's and compare the shaft to the single fan. from the outside they appear to be the same.

MikeH.
How does the single fan motor cool in the dual setup?

It seems to work fine I didnt notice any difference really. Ive never had a problem with the car overheating. The motors been on there probably 6 months.

I cant remember what it was about the fan blade fitting the shaft though. It went on the shaft but something was different. It made it slighlty out of balance.

Let me know what you find out I would like to know myself.
