Important Temp Sensor Q
Important Temp Sensor Q
When i was installing my SLP headers the other day, i broke the sensor that goes in the head on the passenger side. I bought a new one, and installed it, and plugged the wiring harness back into it. Now my temp on my dash reads 260 all the time. What could i do to remedy this? If it's related, at the same time i removed the smog system, and the wire that goes into the intake manifold.

What happens to the gauge when you remove the wire to this sensor (or is it a switch?)?
If the gauge is pegged all the time, I'd look for a short to ground on the lead to the temperature gauge. Grounding this lead will peg it to max. But on my '91 Camaro this lead/sensor is on the driver's side block btwn 1/3 cylinders.
