oxygen sensor ???
oxygen sensor ???
I'm sorry but this isn't for my third gen. I have an 89 suburban tbi that has headers. The oxygen sensor is at the beginning of the collector. The engine is always rich and I believe the sensor isn't getting hot enough to work properly. The headers have been wrapped to try and contain the heat but I don't think its enough. Will a heated O2 sensor from a later model work and how would it have to wire in? I know they make a 3 wire and a 4 wire sensor. Do the heated one stay heated or do they just heat till engine exhaust heat will get them working?
The headers are Hedman and I added the bung for the sensor.
Any suggestions appreciated.
Thanks,,, Matt
Oops, this probably should have been in the TBI board. I hope you don't get mad if I repost it there!

Use a 3 wire sensor & power the heater element from the ignition power source (pink wire to the coil).
