Okay, people, I need some help.
for the past 3 months I've just gotten by on this by keeping the hatch down just enough to not rattle around and to keep it shut.
but now is when I've decided to messa round and find out just what is wrong.
It turns out I'm missing something... some switch or something that goes to the rear hatch pulldown motor.

there's a photo to show what I have.. I need to know the name and number of the part I'm missing. (a photo would be awesome too)

The switch that is missing is called the reversing switch. Your pull-down unit is a 1988-91. The p/n for that switch is 20614880. I'll e-mail you pictures of it.

not even the GM dealers could find the part for me... (let alone when I did find what I thought would have been it.. it wasn't even carried in my state)
