Trans Am taillights to Firebird taillights
I was at a local boneyard the other day and i saw an '86 trans am with a perfect set of taillights so i got them for $20 along with wiring harness (too good to pass up). I like the smoked trans am taillights much better than the stock ones on my '87 firebird, so i'm gonna give it a shot and see if i can get the wiring straightened out as the trans am taillights have 4 bulbs while the firebirds have 6 bulbs. If i can't, i can always sell them and make a few bucks. Anyway i connected the trans am harness i got from the junkyard to test it, and the problem i'm having is that a)the brake lights will not come on and b)the right turn signal doesn't work. Everything else works fine. Has anyone else attempted this swap? I will have more details about the individual wires and such soon.

Red '87Formula Firebird
-mostly stock 5.0L LG4 w/cowl induction setup borrowed from '83 TA and T5 tranny.
How i do at the stop light:
ricers: 3-1
rustangs: 1-too many

Obvious question, but do you know the bulbs are good?
Second, I know the firebirds and T/As have a different wiring harness. I know you said you got the harness, but how far up does it go? You may not have gotten it far enough. Not sure how far up you have to go to get it right, though.
Once again, just some quality, value added ideas from Me. America's favorite ECB, serving America since 1978. And of course, we are exclusively customer oriented.
(Its one of those days again.)
