Question on stock tach

as ive understood the stock tach wire is the black/white wire...now when i re-install my MSD can i cut that wire and just connect it to my MSD tach input and not have any problems?

Dont cut it...just run a jumper wire from the MSD tach port, to the plug in your original harness. That way if you need to remove the MSD from the circuit in a pinch, all you have to do is plug your original back into place....this goes for all the connections.

Also, I just got done installing a MSD 6AL box on my car with the factory tach. I was having problems getting it to start after I wired everything up. Then after about 3 hours on the phone on JEGS tech support I found you don't even need to connect the tach output up for my car, 90 formula TPI HEI remote coil. I threw in a 3k chip it hit the rev limit fine.
