fuel pump?

several times after i have turned the car off i heard a noise that sounded like the fuel pump was running. it would run for 3-10 seconds and shut off. once i quick turned the key back on and off and the noise stopped. with only 28k on the car i don't see how the ignition switch could be worn out. any ideas

There is an oil pressure controlled switch, located on the block, just above the oil filter, which is ORed with the contacts of the ECM controlled fuel pump relay that may be keeping the pump running after the ECM turns the relay off.
